Corrections Policy
How errors are reported, reviewed, corrected and logged.
Reporting an error
Send the article URL, the specific statement you believe is wrong, and any evidence via the contact page. Reports without a specific statement are hard to action.
Review
1.Acknowledge
Reports are acknowledged and logged on receipt.
2.Verify
The disputed statement is re-checked against its original basis and any new evidence supplied.
3.Correct or explain
Confirmed errors are corrected. Where we disagree, we say why rather than silently leaving it.
4.Log
A dated correction note is appended to the affected article describing what changed.
What counts as a correction
- A factual statement that was wrong when published.
- A verification label applied to the wrong category.
- A technical instruction that does not work as described.
Routine updates for new software versions are not corrections and are reflected in the last-updated date instead.
